There are so many places in the world where the past and the present coexist powerfully. Where a sense of history is everywhere. Where the images you have seen in history books are right in front of you. The goal of this work is to visually speak to this coexistence of past and present.

Beginning with my contemporary photgraphic portraits, I create images where questions are raised both about the time they were created, and also whether or not they are photographs, at all.

Are these old images or contemporary ones? Are they photographs, paintings, vintage etchings? Are they old postcards or images from a long-lost book, hidden in an old library? What are their stories?
