In life we must learn to manage complicated emotions - grief, anguish, fear, rage. These are part and parcel of being human.
But life also may present us with catastrophic experiences that need to be managed, understood, integrated.
What does it mean to the self that has had to endure, survive after trauma? Or the Self that that becomes lost with progressive dementing illness such as Alzheimer's ?
Often it is nearly impossible to put this into words. How can those difficult emotions and experiences be communicated in a way that others may begin to understand?
When words are not possible, sometimes images help.
