Life, faith, memory, values.

They are made visible with the artist's hands, using walls, benches, mosaics and paint.

Many of the mosaic murals shown here are from large buildings in the former East Berlin. These extraordinary pieces clearly speak of the values of the East when the city and the country were divided.

Other painted murals are from Bavaria in the German Alps. Murals and decorative details adorn houses in villages and towns throughout Bavaria, formal and permanent art of the street. They provide a visual education about life and values, past and present.

Even benches can speak of everyday life and tell stories. Scattered throughout Alpine towns are hand-carved wooden benches adorned with couples enjoying a quiet rest. Each couple is wearing traditional dress (Trachen).
