Some of my favorite people in the world: Those creative and passionate souls who come to Venice to play on the Venetian Carnevale stage.

So much of the history of the mask has to do with ambiguity, what is known and what is unknown, is it a man or a woman behind the mask? Does it really matter? After all, the beauty is there for the seeing and loving and appreciating.

These images are new work, fully celebrating the symbolic ambiguity of the mask. Are they paintings, photographs, sketches, both? It is my artistic play, my artistic homage to the souls who love Carnevale in Venice.
